{"id":27305,"date":"2022-09-18T14:28:26","date_gmt":"2022-09-18T14:28:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gyalchisarshog.com\/?p=27305"},"modified":"2022-09-18T14:28:29","modified_gmt":"2022-09-18T14:28:29","slug":"pelosi-slams-azerbaijans-illegal-attacks-during-armenia-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gyalchisarshog.com\/?p=27305","title":{"rendered":"Pelosi slams Azerbaijan\u2019s \u2018illegal\u2019 attacks during Armenia visit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ALJAZEERA:   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A powerful American political figure has condemned what she said were \u201cillegal\u201d border attacks by Azerbaijan on Armenia, using a visit to Russia\u2019s military ally to pledge US support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking in the capital Yerevan on Sunday, US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2022\/9\/18\/nancy-pelosi-visits-armenia-amid-conflict-with-azerbaijan\">her trip<\/a> had particular importance following the \u201cillegal and deadly attacks by Azerbaijan on Armenian territory\u201d that led to border clashes in which more than 200 people were killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pelosi said it was clear the border fighting was triggered by Azeri assaults on Armenia and the chronology of the conflict should be clarified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe strongly condemn those attacks,\u201d&nbsp;Pelosi&nbsp;said. \u201cThis was initiated by the Azeris and there has to be recognition of that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The United States, Pelosi said, was listening to Armenia about what its defence needs were and said Washington wanted to support the country in what she cast as \u201ca global struggle between democracy and autocracy\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Azerbaijan on Sunday scolded Pelosi for saying that Baku had started a border conflict with Armenia, saying the \u201cunsubstantiated and unfair\u201d remarks were a serious blow to peace efforts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALJAZEERA: A powerful American political figure has condemned what she said were \u201cillegal\u201d border attacks by Azerbaijan on Armenia, using a visit to Russia\u2019s military ally to pledge US support.
