{"id":29304,"date":"2022-12-24T15:19:58","date_gmt":"2022-12-24T15:19:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gyalchisarshog.com\/?p=29304"},"modified":"2022-12-24T15:20:03","modified_gmt":"2022-12-24T15:20:03","slug":"taliban-orders-ngos-to-ban-female-employees-from-coming-to-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gyalchisarshog.com\/?p=29304","title":{"rendered":"Taliban orders NGOs to ban female employees from coming to work"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reuters:   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">KABUL, Dec 24  &#8211; Afghanistan&#8217;s Taliban-run administration on Saturday ordered all local and foreign non-governmental organisations (NGO) to stop female employees from coming to work, according to an economy ministry letter, in the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/asia-pacific\/dozens-protest-afghan-capital-after-taliban-close-universities-women-2022-12-22\/\">crackdown on women&#8217;s freedoms<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The letter, confirmed by economy ministry spokesperson Abdulrahman Habib, said the female employees were not allowed to work until further notice because some had not adhered to the administration&#8217;s interpretation of Islamic dresscode for women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It comes days after the Taliban-run administration ordered universities to close to women, prompting strong global condemnation and sparking some protests and heavy criticism inside Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was not immediately clear how the order would affect United Nations agencies, which have a large presence in Afghanistan delivering services amid the country&#8217;s humanitarian crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When asked whether the rules included U.N. agencies, Habib said the letter applied to organisations under Afghanistan&#8217;s coordinating body for humanitarian organisations, known as ACBAR.
