{"id":35465,"date":"2023-10-11T14:34:32","date_gmt":"2023-10-11T14:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gyalchisarshog.com\/?p=35465"},"modified":"2023-10-11T14:34:34","modified_gmt":"2023-10-11T14:34:34","slug":"israel-bombs-south-lebanon-after-hezbollah-rocket-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gyalchisarshog.com\/?p=35465","title":{"rendered":"Israel bombs south Lebanon after Hezbollah rocket fire"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reuters:   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JERUSALEM\/BEIRUT, Oct 11 &#8211; Israeli shelling hit southern Lebanese towns on Wednesday in response to a fresh rocket attack by powerful armed group Hezbollah, as cross-border violence extended into a fourth day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hezbollah said it had fired precision missiles at an Israeli position in response to the killing of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/israeli-military-says-its-troops-killed-gunmen-who-infiltrated-lebanon-2023-10-09\/\">its members<\/a> in Israeli shelling earlier this week, pledging &#8220;decisive&#8221; responses to attacks on Lebanese territory, especially deadly ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Israeli military said it had hit a Hezbollah position with an air strike and had also &#8220;attacked&#8221; Lebanon after a military post near the Israeli town of Arab al-Aramshe was targeted with anti-tank fire on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It did not immediately provide details on casualties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Lebanese security source said Hezbollah fired two precision missiles into Israel, which the group considers its sworn enemy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents of the southern Lebanese town of Rmeish said Israeli shelling hit nearby. A security source told Reuters that Israeli artillery rounds were hitting the rocket launch point around Dhayra, across from Arab al-Aramshe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lebanese in those towns say the recent violence has brought <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/lebanon-edge-after-deadliest-border-clashes-since-2006-2023-10-10\/\">back memories<\/a> of the summer of 2006, when Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israel fought a brutal month-long war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Local Lebanese television station al-Jadeed broadcast images of plumes of white smoke billowing out of a wooded region near some homes and farmland in Dhayra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hezbollah and Palestinian faction Hamas both claimed attacks from Lebanon on Tuesday.
