Japanese media has aired footage of a man carrying a gun and standing at the entrance of a post office near the Toda Chuo General Hospital where the two people were shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The two injured people have been identified as an doctor and an elderly patient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Footage also showed security personnel and ambulances surrounding the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Police said someone reported a gun being fired in the hospital at around 1pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The hostage situation in Warabi was reported around 2:15pm local time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Authorities have asked people living within a 300m radius of the Warabi post office to evacuate, according to local media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Facilities nearby have also been placed on lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Shooting incidents are extremely rare in Japan.
