{"id":40783,"date":"2024-07-21T07:34:17","date_gmt":"2024-07-21T07:34:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gyalchisarshog.com\/?p=40783"},"modified":"2024-07-21T07:38:21","modified_gmt":"2024-07-21T07:38:21","slug":"at-least-3-killed-and-87-injured-houthis-say-as-israeli-airstrikes-hit-yemen-day-after-tel-aviv-drone-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gyalchisarshog.com\/?p=40783","title":{"rendered":"At least 3 killed and 87 injured, Houthis say, as Israeli airstrikes hit Yemen day after Tel Aviv drone attack"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CNN:   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At least three people were killed and scores more injured in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/world\/middleeast\/israel\">Israeli<\/a>&nbsp;airstrikes on a Yemeni port, Houthi rebels have said, a day after the Iran-backed group claimed a deadly attack on the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its fighter jets struck \u201cmilitary targets of the Houthi terrorist regime\u201d in the area of Yemen\u2019s Hodeidah Port on Saturday, in what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said was a direct response to the death of a 50-year-old Israeli in a Houthi&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/07\/19\/middleeast\/israel-tel-aviv-explosion-us-embassy-intl-hnk\/index.html\">drone attack on Tel Aviv<\/a>&nbsp;on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the first time Israel has struck Yemen, according to Israeli officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Houthi-run Al Masirah TV said the strikes targeted oil facilities in the port on Yemen\u2019s west coast, killing at least three people and injuring 87, most of them with \u201csevere burns.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/12\/19\/middleeast\/red-sea-crisis-explainer-houthi-yemen-israel-intl\/index.html\">Houthi<\/a>&nbsp;spokesperson Mohammed Abdulsalam said the strikes had also hit civilian targets and a power station.
