Two body bags could also be seen on the street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In October,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c5yj5qepe4wo\">the UK placed sanctions<\/a>&nbsp;on Kirillov, saying he had overseen the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine and acted as a &#8220;significant mouthpiece for Kremlin disinformation&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Monday, Ukraine&#8217;s secret service, the SBU, charged him in absentia, saying&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/SBUkr\/13602\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">on Telegram<\/a>&nbsp;he was &#8220;responsible for the mass use of banned chemical weapons&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russia denies the allegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Investigative Committee, Russia&#8217;s main investigative authority, said it had &#8220;opened a criminal case into the murder of two servicemen&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Investigators, forensic experts and operational services are working at the scene,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Investigative actions and operational search activities are being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BBC: A high-ranking general in the Russian armed forces and his assistant have been killed in an explosion in Moscow.
