The latest standoff followed a brief skirmish on May 28 that left a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/asia-pacific\/cambodia-says-soldier-killed-brief-border-skirmish-with-thai-troops-2025-05-28\/\">Cambodian soldier dead.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Thai government hopes to use the platform to resolve the situation peacefully,&#8221; Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra posted about the meeting on her Facebook page on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The row comes at a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/asia-pacific\/thai-ruling-party-grapples-with-border-crisis-thorny-court-case-amid-bleak-2025-06-11\/\">challenging time<\/a>&nbsp;for Thailand&#8217;s government, which is losing popularity in prolonged struggle to spur economic growth.
