At least 13 people have died and 98 were injured after a train derailed in Mexico on Sunday, according to the Mexican Navy. There were 250 people on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The derailment occurred in Asunci\u00f3n Ixtaltepec, Oaxaca, on the train\u2019s main line between Veracruz and Salina Cruz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, the navy said that 36 people required hospital care and the rest sustained minor injuries. Hundreds of naval personnel and rescue vehicles have been sent to the scene, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An investigation will be opened to determine the cause of the derailment, Mexico\u2019s Attorney General Ernestina Godoy said in a post on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
