BERLIN, March 6 – Germany has pulled additional Bundeswehr troops out of the Middle East, \u200ba military spokesman told Reuters on Friday, \u200cthe seventh day of a U.S.\u2013Israeli war on Iran that has convulsed the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soldiers deployed \u200bwith the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon \u200bare being withdrawn due to the security \u2060situation, the spokesperson said after the \u200bBundeswehr already sharply reduced its presence in Erbil \u200bin northern Iraq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The RND newspaper network, which first reported the news, said that German troops stationed \u200bin Bahrain had already returned home, and \u200bpreparations for withdrawals from Kuwait were underway. The spokesperson \u200cdeclined \u2060to comment on this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The RND report also said that soldiers and staff from the German embassy in Baghdad were being \u200brelocated to Jordan. \u200bThe \u2060foreign ministry did not respond to a request for comment from \u200bReuters on the move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
