Japan’s Defence Ministry posted on X that Koizumi and \u200cMarles \u2060welcomed the “conclusion of contracts for General Purpose Frigates, and confirmed to further strengthen bilateral defense ties” in the signing in Melbourne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Contracts were signed for the first three \u200bfrigates, to be \u200bbuilt in \u2060Japan, before there is a “transition to an onshore build” at the Henderson shipyard near \u200bPerth in Western Australia, Marles said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
