KYIV, May 2 – A Russian drone attack on a bus in Ukraine’s southern city of Kherson killed \u200btwo people and injured seven more early on \u200cSaturday, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most of the casualties were public utilities workers, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin added on Telegram. He posted \u200bimages from the site that showed the bus \u200bwith blown-out windows and a body with \u2060traces of blood lying on its floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Such attacks \u200bare part of a systemic policy of terror against \u200bthe civilian population,” Dmytro Lubinets, Ukraine’s human rights ombudsman, said on the Telegram app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kherson, the only regional capital seized by \u200bRussian forces in their 2022 full-scale invasion, was \u200brecaptured by Ukrainian troops later that year but has increasingly come \u200cunder \u2060attack from Russian forces across the Dnipro River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ukrainian officials and human rights organisations have accused Moscow’s troops of deliberate and systemic small-drone attacks on civilians \u200bacross areas close \u200bto the \u2060frontline, in particular in Kherson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
