At least six people have been killed in an Israeli air attack on a Gaza City tent camp housing displaced people, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A source at al-Shifa Hospital told Al Jazeera reporters on the ground that at least 15 people were injured in the attack on Saturday, with many being treated in the hospital\u2019s intensive care unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Women and children are believed to be among the casualties, said Al Jazeera\u2019s Hani Mahmoud, reporting from Gaza City. He added that the casualty toll is expected to rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Israeli drone strikes caused \u201ca huge explosion\u201d and a \u201cstate of panic\u201d at the United Nations school compound housing displaced people, Mahmoud said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe attack targeted a tent next to another tent, and there seemed to be a wedding going on at that moment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPeople were seen running out of the displacement site into the streets where civilian vehicles were deployed right away just to transport the injuries caused by the attack.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Israeli army told the AFP news agency that it had \u201ctargeted terrorists in that sector\u201d, without elaborating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
