KABUL, June 10 (Reuters) – At \u200bleast 13 people were killed, including 11 children, \u200cafter Pakistan’s military launched air strikes in three Afghan provinces, Afghan Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said on Wednesday, in \u200ba renewal of a conflict that has killed \u200bhundreds this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At least 14 others – all of \u2060them children and women – were injured in Islamabad’s \u200bstrikes that violated Afghanistan’s airspace and bombed civilian homes \u200bin the provinces of Kunar, Khost and Paktika, Mujahid added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was no immediate comment from the Pakistani military or government, but \u200bsecurity officials told Reuters that Islamabad has carried \u200bout air strikes in what they called “hideouts and other facilities of \u200cthe \u2060Pakistani militants using them against Pakistan.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Islamabad has blamed Kabul for harbouring militants that it says plot attacks in Pakistan. The Taliban has denied the allegations and \u200bsaid militancy \u200bin Pakistan \u2060is an internal problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The renewed violence threatens to disturb a long lull in fighting \u200bbetween Pakistan and Afghanistan, allies-turned-foes<\/a> who fought their \u200bworst \u2060battle in years in February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
