ISLAMABAD, Aug 25 – Pakistan and Iran made “significant progress” in talks that focused on \u200bthe U.S.-Israeli war on Iran and a path \u200cto peace, Pakistan’s interior minister said on Tuesday, at the end of a visit to Tehran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talks between the two sides focused \u200bon measures to prevent further escalation, reopening of \u200bthe Strait of Hormuz and an expedited termination \u2060of the conflict, a statement from the Pakistani military \u200bsaid about the meeting between the country’s army chief, \u200bAsim Munir, and the Iranian leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two sides also exchanged views on regional peace and the way to arrive at a negotiated \u200bsettlement to the dispute, the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Iranian President \u200bcandidly shared his government’s perspective and we had a very constructive \u200cexchange \u2060on the issues involved,” Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who accompanied Munir to Tehran, said in a post on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The White House and the State Department did not immediately \u200brespond to \u200brequests for comment \u2060made outside business hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munir spoke with U.S. President<\/a> Donald Trump ahead of his Tehran visit, \u200bReuters reported on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
