Rain likely to play spoilsport during Durga Puja in Bengal; UP, Uttarakhand on alert | Top points

India Today:

Heavy rainfall is likely to dampen festive spirits in West Bengal and may play spoilsport during the remaining three days of the festivities. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy showers across south Bengal over the next 72 hours.

There seems to be no relief for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand from heavy rainfall in the upcoming days as the IMD has predicted heavy showers for these states. Central and northeast regions are bracing for heavy rainfall starting Tuesday.

“In view of an approaching synoptic (rain bearing) system formed in the Bay of Bengal, rainfall will continue over Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal till October 4,” the IMD said.
